Norway - no more pandemic restrictions for travellers
Norway removes pandemic restrictions - a short and sweet post
No tests, no qr codes, no pre-arrival registration
As of 12 of February 2022 the Norwegian government has announced that the restrictions on inbound travellers with regards to testing requirements, proof of vaccination or recovery from Covid-19 have been scrapped. No pre-arrival registration is needed either.
This is true for mainland Norway, some restrictions are still apply for travel to Svalbard.
social distancing and mask mandates
no need for 1 metre rule, social distancing or masking up
It is no longer required to wear masks in public places, keep a distance and socially distance from one another. The advice is to stay at home if not feeling well and get tested if displaying symptoms. There is no quarantine imposed if tested positive, just the advice to stay home for a few days. The stay at home advice might be changed and scraped too in a few weeks.
The DNT huts
reservation no longer required
All pandemic restrictions and the need to make a reservation in advance have been discontinued by the DNT for all the huts in their network. As a member you are allowed to book a bed if you so choose and for some favourite huts it would be advisable certainly in the high summer season.
Happy hiking this summer!
